THE SITTING ROOM
This is an incredibly elegant
room, comfortably furnished, with clear views
over the town to the hills in the west and north.
Decorated in a rich blue
with white cornicings and a large ornamental
plaster this room feels like a piece of Wedgewood.
Although a very victorian
room in decor we have found that the contemporary
style of furnishing has been a great success
- resulting in a very serene place to enjoy
whether reading your paper after breakfast or
whiling away an hour or two after a busy day.
The fireplace in this room
is noteworthy in that it is an embossed surround
denoting learning and the arts - it has an artists
palette, a musical instrument, the owl of learning
and other allusions to gentility and education.
There are also a selection
of games available including chess, backgammon
and playing cards.
Satellite TV is installed
in the sitting room.
Guests who are staying
have full use of this room during the day as
well as the evenings.
